Different depths, different paces. All for small group.

The region

Sa Pa vs Lai Châu — what's the difference?

Sa Pa sits at 1,600m — rice terraces, H'Mông and Dao villages, beautiful but increasingly visited. We go to the parts that aren't on the standard circuit.

Cross O Quy Hồ Pass into Lai Châu and the crowds disappear entirely. No cable car. No pedestrian street. Villages that have never appeared on a booking platform. A glass bridge that opened in 2023 with no English-language operator running it properly — until now.

Best Good Wet season

Rice terraces turn gold Oct–Nov. Cloud inversion over Mường Hoa valley most Jan–Feb mornings. Wet season (May–Aug) the pass can be slippery but the jungle is vivid — we check conditions every morning and always have an alternative plan.
